To access this function,  your specific Card ID (The 12-digit number on the back of the card) must employee card must have RESTART SYSTEM selected under MAINTENANCE in permission settings Please see your store Owner/Manager to update your permission settings.  See Permission Settings and Functions for more information on how to set permissions.The manager is given the option to reboot the machine being used by selecting Reboot This Machine. The manager may also reboot the opposite machine or both machines by selecting the appropriate option. If the machine that the manager is using is the primary (a.k.a. master) machine, and the manager wants the other machine to be in primary mode instead, the manager may select Fail Over to Backup.  Once an option is chosen, select Go to execute the command. The system will prompt you to confirm the action. The system may also ask to confirm of the current backup status.modify permissions.

Warning
  • It's not advised to execute reboots remotely, On site interaction is required! 
  • Failure to adhere to proper reboot and shutdown procedure may result in data loss.

To reboot the X-Changer, select Maintenance from the Main Menu.

Select Restart System.

Select the X-Changer you want to reboot (Most likely, X-Changer A which is Primary)

Select Ok when prompted.

The X-Changer will reboot and once finished will return to the welcome screen.

Image Removedfirst, determine if the system to be rebooted is Database Primary or Database backup. This information can be found on the upper left hand corner of the Main LaundryCard screen when applications are running.

If the system to be rebooted is Database Backup

Step 1 - Initiate Reboot


  1. Insert employee card into Backup X-Changer and click Maintenance then Restart System.


  2. Choose the appropriate button to reboot the Backup X-Changer.

Step 2 - Confirm Reboot

  1. When prompted, click OK to confirm.



If the system to be rebooted is Database Primary

Step 1 - Perform Failover

  1. Insert employee card into Primary X-Changer and click Maintenance then System Error Messages. Verify no database backup errors are present.
    1. If database backup errors are present, contact Technical Support before proceeding.
  2. Click the Back button.
  3. Click the Restart System button.
  4. Choose Failover to Backup. When prompted, click OK to confirm.


Step 2 - Initiate Reboot

  1. When returned to main Maintenance Menu click Restart System.
  2. Choose the appropriate button to reboot the X-Changer that is now the backup.
  3. When prompted, click OK to confirm.




Tip

X-Changers should be rebooted once a month for optimum performance!
