Step-by-step guide
Remove the
hard drive assemblySSD:
Remove the top lid of the computer by pushing the release latch on the back side of the computer until it gives a click sound to unlock the cover [1]. Slide and lift the cover from the system [2].
- To remove Remove the hard drive:
- Disconnect the hard drive data cable and power cable from the connectors on the hard drive [1, 2]. Push the release tab and lift the hard drive assembly from the system [3].
Install the hard drive assembly:
- Align the tabs on the hard drive assembly with the slots on the chassis at 30 degree angle .
- Press the hard drive assembly so that it gets secured to the hard drive and optical drive cage [1].
- Connect the hard drive data cable and hard drive power cable to the connectors on the hard drive [2,3]

Remove/Install the SSD:
- To remove the M.2 PCIe SSD:
- Remove the single (M2x3.5) screw that secures the M.2 PCIe SSD to the system board
- Lift and pull out the PCIe SSD from its connector on the system board

2. Place the cover on the computer and slide the cover towards the front of the system [1] until it clicks into place [2].
