Power Settings (500 RT1U)

There are no specific settings for the Tripp-Lite Internet Office-UPS in the V1 X-Changer.  The following setup information refers only to the Tripp-Lite 500RT1U in the V2 X-Changer.

The Tripp-Lite UPS in conjunction with the Power Alert software are intended to safely shutdown a PC after a power loss to the UPS has occurred.  The Power Alert agent can be configured to perform differently when the UPS enters an On Battery Event (i.e. the UPS is receiving power from the battery and not AC power) and when a Low Battery Event occurs (i.e. the battery charge rate drops to a designated threshold).

To configure the 500RT1U unit battery access the following:

  1. Click the Windows button on the keyboard.
  2. Type PowerAlert Console
  3. Click the STATUS Icon at the top of the Console
  4. Click the BATTERY Icon
  5. View the Battery Information under Device Summary

Legacy configuration for LaundryCard utilized a 2 min. PC shutdown timer and a 6 min. UPS shutdown timer.

Testing (500 RT1U)

Frequency of Testing:  Annually

  1. To test your UPS, follow the owner's manual section titled "To Run a Self-Test" page 7.  The procedure will be similar to the following:
    1. With your UPS plugged in and turned on, press and hold the ON/OFF/STANDBY button for one second.
    2. The test will last approximately 10 seconds as the UPS switches to battery to test its load capacity and charge.
    3. All LEDs will be lit and the UPS alarm will sound.
    4. See LED descriptions to determine the results of the Self-Test.
    5. Note: you can leave connected equipment on during a self-test. Your UPS, however, will not perform a self-test if you have placed it in "Charge Only" mode.
