By default, the maximum number of available Machine IDs machines shown on the Machine Config page is 254. Additionally, the maximum assignment value that highest address a card reader can be set programmed to a card reader is also 254is 254.

To configure more than 254 machines some special steps must be taken.

With the exception of Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems being set to Machine ID 350, a specific series of steps are required to increase the machine number maximum to the allotted limit for washers, dryers, and equipment using a LaundryCard reader.

THE MAXIMUM LIMIT OF AVAILABLE MACHINE IDs IS 320.

DO NOT EXCEED OR ADD ANY MACHINES PAST #320.

DOING SO WILL RENDER THE ENTIRE LINE THAT THAT SPECIFIC MACHINE IS ON AS UNUSABLE (e.g. UNDEFINED) UNTIL CORRECTEDNOTE

The max machine limit is 320. Configuring a machine number past 320 will cause WCRD to show the entire line as UNDEFINED.

Updating CCI.INI for All X-Changers

...

To allow selecting a machine number above 254 in the LaundryCard GUI, CCI.ini must be updated.

  1. Open D:\CCI\Process_Initialization\CCI.ini

  2. Open the CCI.INI ini file for every X-Changer for editing.

    1. This can be done through opening the file via LaundryLink itself or through the X-Changer remotely using the Remote Control function in LaundryLink.

    2. When done remotely, you can use Laundry App Utility to access the file. The file itself can be found in <D:\CCI\Process_Initialization>

  3. With CCI.INI opened, navigate to In the [STATE_MACHINE] and section add the following line :
    MAX_MACHINE_ID= _ _ _
    The three numbers entered can be where ### is any number between 255 -and 320 but no higher (e.g. .
    MAX_MACHINE_ID=320).###

  4. Save the change file and repeat this process for every X-Changer’s CCI.INI file.Restart all X-Changer applications across all X-Changers.

After the above is applied, Machine IDs above the 254 default will now display when going into Machine Config from the Card Reader Setup menu.

...

  1. The Machine Config screen will now show numbers up the value specified in CCI.ini.

Reader Addressing

Card readers only support addresses up to 254. To configure a card reader for machine 255 and higher, duplicate addresses can be used as long as they are on different lines. For example, you can have Machine 1 with a reader address of #001 on Line 2 and Machine 273 also with a reader address of #001 on Line 6.

Machine Config Guidelines

...

  • Users cannot enter a Card Reader Address above 255. The card readers themselves cannot be programmed past 254 successfully.

  • Users CAN override the Card Reader Address. When selecting a Machine ID above 254, you can override the Card Reader Address to any desired number between 1 and 254. With that said:

  • Users CAN assign the same Card Reader Address on Different Line Numbers. For example, you can have any Card Reader Address between #001 and #254 on Line Numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and/or 5, as long as the correct Machine ID is selected.

Note

DO NOT assign the same card reader addresses to the same line number. Duplicates and overlapping reader addresses over the same line number can render one or multiple readers on that line unusable until corrected

...

.

Example:

...

  • When attempting to save and set a specific Card Reader Address that is different than the Machine ID, a popup prompt will require confirming the change before continuing. Ensure the information being saved is accurate before confirming.
