Transport Roller Cleaning

  1. The transport rollers may be cleaned by cycling a cleaning card back
and forth between the entry bezel and the card connected position.

  2. 2.Sometimes, when the transport rollers are exceptionally dirty, there is
not enough roller grip on the card to move it back and forth.

  3. 3.Insert a cleaning card just far enough for it to be positioned between the front two rollers.
Allow the rollers to turn for 5 to 10 seconds at which point, increased
pull will be felt on the card.

  4. 4. With a firm grip on the cleaning card, insert
it still further, until it reaches the rear set of transport rollers. Allow all 4
rollers to spin on the card for another 5 to 10 seconds. The card may
now be removed, or released and ejected.

Roller Inspection

Inspect the rollers for damage and wear

New Roller

Worn Roller

If the clutch roller does not require replacing, it should be cleaned with
Isopropyl Alcohol or a mild detergent and a lint free cloth. The roller
should be rotated by hand, ensuring that all of the surface which makes
contact with the card is clean.

Checking Belt Tension

It is critical for the correct operation of the unit, that the two main drive
belts are correctly adjusted.

The drive belts should be visually inspected for damage or wear.
If any
of the ‘teeth’ are worn or rounded, the belt should be replaced.  Also verify the orange belts are not loose enough to fall off.

Position Sensors

Cleaning

  1. Ensure the 3 black position sensors are clean.  To clean, wipe the lens surface with a clean dry cloth.

Image Removed

  1. Ensure the 3 white sensor connectors are plugged in properly and fully seated.
