  1. Connect both the networking hubs together by using the supplied (Green) 25-foot networking cable. Make sure both ends of the networking cable are labeled "To X-Changer A" or "To X-Changer B", etc.

  2. Connect the C-1036 15-pin cross-over cable to the “TO OTHER VALUE CENTER” port on the front of the control head. Connect the C-1018-15V cable to the 15VDC port on the front of the control head. Run both cables to the other X-Changer and connect to the corresponding ports.

    Note

BE CAREFUL NOT TO WIRE THE 5 VOLT ON 1 CABINET TO THE 15 VOLT CONNECTOR IN THE OTHER CABINET

  3. Insert a minimum of 25 Laundry Cards into the card dispenser in X-Changer A. The colored side of the cards must be facing DOWN, barcode side UP. The bar code end of the card must be closest to the front panel. Load cards as pictured:

  4. On X-Changer A, Connect the card reader home run lines to the appropriate port on the Control Head. There are up to 5 lines labeled 0 through 4, make sure the cables are labeled. Leave X-Changer B unplugged at this time.

  5. Verify that all readers have power. If any readers are blank, check the lines to ensure they are correctly wired.

  6. If the readers are dim half way down the line, the home run line may be too long and should be shortened where possible.

Assign an Address to a Card Reader

Every card reader on a system must be assigned a unique address.  Refer to the cabling diagram provided by CCI for the correct address numbers.

Shipped with the system is a set of 3 Program Cards. These cards are required in order to set the addresses on the card readers. A Reader battery can be ordered separately for a fee to program the readers without the control head power source connected. The part number for this device is C-0095.

Note
titleNote

The card readers can be programmed within the first few minutes of being powered on. If you are unable to program the reader within the time limit, the reader must be power cycled. This can be performed by disconnecting the cat5 cables from control head and reconnecting.

Connect the first card reader to the home run line or programming battery using any available Cat5 cable, the card reader will power up.

Insert the program card into the reader, the display will show "Set Address: 0**" - Remove the program card. The display will begin flashing a zero followed by 2 asterisks.

The action of changing the address uses a series of short and long card 'dips'.  The flashing character represents the character in focus and which is currently set-able.  Inserting and removing the card quickly (short dip) will increase the value of the character by one. Inserting and leaving the card inserted (long dip) will change to the next character in the address.  Using this sequence of 'dips' will set the address to the desired value.

Once the desired value has been obtained, insert and leave the card inserted until the card reader displays "Storing Value, Remove Card Now"

It's now safe to move on to the next card reader. If using the programming battery, make sure the reader gets mounted to the appropriate machine as detailed in the provided cabling diagram.
