Dip Switch Selection ProcessValuesEach switch has a value associated with it, as shown in the table below. Turning switches on ON causes their values to be added together. Switch 1 | Switch 2 | Switch 3 | Switch 4 | Switch 5 | Switch 6 | Switch 7 | Switch 8 |
---|
128 | 64 | 32 | 16 | 8 | 4 | 2 | 1 |
For example turning switch numbers 8 (1) and 7 (2) on represents the value of 3, or turning on switch numbers 4 (16), 6 (4), and 8 (1) equals 21. Using this binary chart you can achieve any number between 1 and 255 .Once a card reader has been addressed, the reader will display that address across its LCD screen when it is plugged into the system. Once the system recognizes that the reader is online, the reader displays 'Vend Price xxxx'. When the reader is running you can place the reader into a diagnostics mode with the Diag Card, and it will display its programmed address. The following PDF may be used to help you properly set the switches to represent the desired card reader address. Find the desired reader address in the table and set the switches to the correct associated On/Off settings. 250 . |
