The included laser printer has been pre-configured to work with the system. Follow the steps to setup, connect, and test the printer.
- The printer may be installed up to 300 feet from the X-Changer cabinets.
- There is a cat5 port on the rear of the printer, connect an appropriate length cat5 cable to the port.
- Unpack the toner cartridge and remove plastic shipping tabs
- Install toner cartridge in printer
- Connect the printer power cord.
- Connect one end of the data cable to the Print Server. Run the cable to X-Changer "A". Refer to the "Proper Cable Installation" section located at the end of the document for information on cabling requirements.
- Route the cable up through the hole in the bottom of X-Changer "A", through the wire raceways, and connect the data cable to the one of the ports on the Ethernet HUB in the X-Changer A.
- Connect the Power cord to the printer and to a 120VAC outlet
- Fill the printer with paper.
- Test the printer for basic operation as follows:
- While holding the button on front of the printer, turn on the power switch on the side of the printer.
- After turning on the power, continue holding the front panel button for 5 seconds
- After releasing the front panel button, note that the "drum" indicator light remains lit
- Depress the front panel button again and release.
- Note that the "Ready" light goes ON and the Drum light goes OFF
- A single 'Test" sheet should be automatically printed on the printer.
