C-0103-L2 LC WiFi Reader.
The appropriate Mounting, Power, and Communication (Pulse or Serial) kits supplied by your distributor for equipment installation.
The below installation instructions will reference parts included in the C-6801 Reader Mounting Kit. Components included in kits ordered from your distributor may vary.
The assigned machine number as configured in Card Reader Setup (below).
Tools (Not included)
Power Drill
1-1/8” Hole Saw for Metal Drilling
Cutting Oil for Metal Drilling
Bit Driver with T-15 Secure Torx Bit
(Optional) Slip Joint Pliers, if power kit includes spade taps.
(Optional) A writing utensil such as a permanent marker, if a C-6700-TEMP Drill Template was included with the mounting kit.
Preparation
When setting up a system, there are numerous tasks that need to be carried out during this process. While these tasks can be performed at any stage of the setup, we recommend preparing the system ahead of time, if possible.
Confirm the X-Changers have the latest LCRF installed and have full access to the internet.
You can test this by opening the Microsoft Edge browser and attempting to access any website.
Ensure that the X-Changers have the latest LaundryCard version (LaundryCard v9.2.3 or newer) installed.
Add all CAPs in https://cardconceptsinc.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LCV9/pages/7113820 that will be mounted and installed.
Ensure that ALL wireless-specific equipment types have been added and assigned their corresponding machine numbers for their respective wireless readers to be installed.
Machine Installation
The following are general instructions for reference when a Universal Mounting Kit is being utilized. These instructions do not include power or machine start harness connection points, as such would be unique to the requested supplied Power and Communication Kits.
If specific detailed instructions are provided or required with your Mounting Kit, ensure those instructions are followed first.
Disconnect any electrical device from power before performing any work on the device. It is recommended that the instructions contained herein be performed by individuals who are qualified to perform these tasks.
Card Concepts Inc. takes no responsibility for the accuracy of this document or any damage that may occur to target equipment. Technical Support recommends using all appropriate safety equipment (such as hand and eye protection) during execution of the instructions below.
I. Mark and Cut Mounting Surface
(If machine is powered) Disconnect power from the desired machine.
Select a mounting position on the front plate of the desired machine.
The mounting position should be in close proximity to the coin drop (if applicable) and length of installation harnesses.
Mount the reader in a location that will not expose wiring to excessive heat or friction.
If using a C-6700-TEMP Drill Template, use the template and mark Hole “C” for primary drill mounting. Hole "C" is the pilot position and primary mounting location for the chase nipple.
Apply Cutting Oil on targeted surface and drill a 1-1/8" hole into the center-marked position “C” using a Hole Saw, using caution when drilling to avoid damaging anything behind the plate.
II. Mounting Bracket Attachment
Align the center hole of the C-5414 Standard Mounting Bracket to the newly drilled hole on the machine face.
Insert the C-5702 Chase Nipple through the hole and tightly secure with the C-5703 Lock Nut over the bracket.
III. Feeding and Connecting Harnesses
Feed the kit-provided Power and Machine Start Harnesses through the center chase nipple hole.
Connect the Power and Machine Start Harnesses to the back of the L2 Wireless LaundryCard Reader.
IV. Mount and Assign Reader
Attach the top mounting wedge of the reader onto the top edge of the mounting bracket and carefully slide the L2 reader down into place, ensuring the sides and bottom of bracket are overlapped by the reader.
Holding the reader down in place onto the bracket, secure the bottom two mounting holes onto the bracket with provided C-5416 T-15 Torx Screws.
Power on machine, which will also power the reader.
Once the reader is powered up, the Set Machine prompt will appear. Enter the assigned machine number chosen in Card Reader Setup.
Post-Installation
Once the reader is installed, configured and has reached its idle screen, perform test starts to ensure proper machine and reader communications. You may also verify successful starts in the Machine Activity Report from the X-Changer.
