Purpose

This explains how to correct a system network problem. An error such as the one below indicates the Laundry Card cabinets are not communicating with each other properly. Left unresolved, database backup failures can occur.

  • X-Changer A (This System)
  • Network.err
  • Network error or other computer (CCI2) is not running.
  • Last known good network check was at 1/19/2012 12:41:05 PM
  • Primary database is on X-changer A

Requirements

Keys to open front or rear of X-Changer

Identify Network Device

LINKSYS hub

Consider replacing original Linksys network hubs with technologically superior network switches less prone to failure. Any 5-8 port 10/100 switch will do.

DELL POWER CONNECT switch

CISCO switch

D-LINK switch

MikroTik

Reboot Power to Network Device

When working on the system network, transactions may slow down for customers.
Ideally, wait until after funds are added to laundry cards and machines are already started.
Make sure there are no red lines indicating DB or CSV backup failures prior to this procedure.
If so, please contact CCI support immediately.

  1. Make sure you have the rear (front on some LITE systems) open on both cabinets.

  2. Starting with X-Changer A, locate the network device power plug.

  3. Remove power from this device for 10-15 seconds then reconnect power.
Give the system 60 seconds to sync.

  4. Proceed to X-Changer B and locate the network device power plug - repeat step 3.

  5. Return to the front side of the X-Changers and insert a card.
Both systems should take the card with no errors.
