For top-mount placements, CCI strongly recommends mounting the front of frontof the top-mount bracket 1-1/4 inches from the front of the machine, to allow toallow for card swipe clearance. Ensure the drilled hole aligns accordingly. Mounting the top-mount bracket any bracketany further back then 1-1/4inches 4inches from the front of the machine to the edge of the reader thereader can potentially interfere with mounting the reader to the bracket and may andmay prevent users from being able to swipe or insert a card into the reader due readerdue to lack of clearance. |

Step 1 - Drilling Preparation
- Select the part of the machine where the high-front or top-mount bracket will be installedbeinstalled. Ensure this location, whether on the chassis or a panel, is away from any fromany existing components or exposed wiring.
- Mark where you may want to mount the reader with a permanent marker if neededifneeded.
- Mark where you may want to mount the reader with a permanent marker if neededifneeded.
- Whether keeping the chassis/panel intact, exposing, or removing said chassissaidchassis/panel, apply some cutting oil where drilling through metal will take placetakeplace.
Drill the oiled section in question carefully using the tungsten carbide tipped carbidetipped hole cutter.
- With the drilled hole prepped, you are now ready nowready to mount the reader.

In a high-front mounting solution where the FasCard
reader willreaderwill be angled downward toward the customer in regard to
taller machinestallermachines, our C-6465 bracket would be used for
this installthisinstall.
High-front mount Step-by-step guide
- Attach the C-6465 High Mount Bracket in
- itsplace, securing it down with a chase nipple.
- Mount the universal bracket to the high-
- frontbracket with two (2) 8-32 screws and feed
- theharness wiring through the center. Whether choosing to
- feedwiring first or mounting the bracket first is no problem as
- longas the end result (pictured below) is achieved.
- Connect the harnesses to their appropriate locations in the
- backof the reader.

- Slowly mount the reader to the corresponding bracket with
- thetop lip catching the locking edge and carefully wedging
- thereader in place. Ensure no metal edges of the bracket
- arevisible.
Secure the reader with the provided T15 secure
torxscrews on the bottom.
This may be part of the install kits or the
screwsused from a previous high-front solution.
Note title Screwdriver Angling As the reader is angled downward
inhigh-front solutions, securing the
readermay require a thinner secure
torxscrewdriver or a flex extension for
theappropriate torx bit to accommodate for
theangle.
- Only F3 FasCard readers – Remove any plastic protectors (if still present) from
- thetouchscreen or EMV chip insert label.

As stated above, only for top-mount solutions the frontthefront of the top-mount bracket 1-1/4 inches from the frontthefront of the machine, to allow for card swipe clearance. In a top-mount solution, the process differs slightly from
a frontafront or high-front mounting solution. Our C-6452bracket would be used in this orientation.
Top-mount Step-by-step guide
- Attach the top-mount bracket onto the top panel of
- themachine, securing down with the chase nipple.Ensure the appropriate wiring is fed through the center
- holefor connecting to the reader.
- Connect all harnesses to the rear of the touchscreen
- readerwhere required.

- Slowly mount the reader to the corresponding bracket with
- thetop lip catching the locking edges (shown in red) and
- carefullywedge the reader in place.
- Aligning the reader to the top mount also secures the
- groundpost (show in teal) to the reader.
- Secure reader with the included T15 Secure Torx screwson the bottom.
- Only F3 FasCard readers – Remove any plastic protectors (if still present) from
- thetouchscreen or EMV chip insert label.
