C-5401 | F2 FasCard Reader Coins, Credit/Debit, Loyalty |
The F2 FasCard reader is the second generation of FasCard readers and includes the features detailed below.
Full-Color Touchscreen
An improvement over the button pad selection method of the F1 reader, the F2 reader features a full-color touchscreen, as shown below.
Modular Hardware
The F2 reader features a modular approach to hardware, allowing for easy replacement of individual components in the field. Instructions for replacing modular components may be found in the F2: FasCard Reader Field Replaceable Components Guide. Â
Dual Coin Input
The F2 reader utilizes dual coin inputs, allowing two individual coin drops to be used with one reader. Coin drops may be independently configured to recognize one coin denomination per drop. More information on the coin input modes may be found on the FasCard Admin Site - Equipment Setup page. The location of the coin inputs is shown here.
LED Status Lights
The F2 reader utilizes a row of internal LED lights that illuminate in different colors and patterns to indicate reader/machine status changes. A list of the colors and patterns is included below, as well as some example images.
LED Color | Status Description | Animation Description |
Blue | Machine is idle or ready to accept payment | Blue light begins at the top of the light bar and gradually illuminates downward until bar is completely blue, then repeats. |
Green Blinking | Payment transaction occurring | Green light blinks when payment transaction is occurring. |
Multi Color Blinking | Pressing Start-Machine is activated | Multi-color blinking begins when Start button is pressed. |
Green | Machine is in use / running | Green light begins at top of light bar and gradually illuminates downward, then darkens from bottom to top and repeats. |
Yellow | Machine is almost finished | Yellow light pulses along entire length of the light bar. |
Red | Machine is out of service | Red light along length of bar, no animation. |
Red Blinking | Machine is disabled | Red light blinks along the entire length of the light bar. |
Integrated NFC Hardware
Please note that NFC hardware is present but utilization of this feature is firmware dependent and may not necessarily be immediately available for all systems.
The F2 FasCard reader integrates near-field communication (NFC) capable hardware to allow laundry customers to pay via smartphone or smartcard. Â
LED Color | Status Description | Animation Description |
Green | Customer Swipes Card or holds phone for NFC payment | Green light begins at top of light bar and blinks while completing transaction. |
Integrated Power Converter
The F2 FasCard reader can accept both 12vdc and 24vac power natively and does not require the C-5602 power converter when these options are available. 110/220vac applications require the C-5602 power converter.
