Disconnect the pulse cable (left) and Cat5 cable (right), highlighted in red.
Step 2 - Remove the Circuit Board from Reader Body
Gently disconnect the magnetic stripe reader from the circuit board (highlighted in red).
Remove the four (4) screws holding the board to the reader body (highlighted in yellow).
Gently lift the circuit board away and set it aside, preferably in a mylar bag or non-conductive, anti-static surface.
Step 3 - Remove Card Reader Body
Using a 1/4" nut driver, remove the kep nuts at the front of the card reader body (there may be a matching pair underneath the reader body).
Set these nuts aside for the replacement reader.
Once all nuts are removed, it is possible to slide the reader body out and away from the X-Changer door.
Step 4 - Install Replacement Reader
On the replacement card reader, remove the circuit board from the card reader body, as shown in Step 2.
Reverse Step 3, installing card reader body onto X-Changer door using the kep nuts and 1/4" nut driver.
Reverse Step 2, installing the circuit board onto the card reader body once all kep nuts are secured.
Set dipswitch #7 to ON position, all other dipswitches set to the OFF position (highlighted in red).
Reconnect pulse cable and Cat5 cable, reversing Step 1.
Test card reader with existing customer or manager card to verify operation.
