Step-by-step guide

Step 1 -

 Removing

Removing the old Control Head

from the X-Changer cabinet

  1. Flip the white

rocker
  1. switch on the rear of

the Control Head 
  1. the Control Head to the

  2. Disconnect all cables from the front and rear of the Control

Head

    1. Technical Support recommends taking a

photo
    1. picture of the existing connections with a camera or smartphone

  1. Remove the screws securing the

Step 2 - Removing

Control

  1. With the Control Head taken out of the X-Changer cabinet using a 3/16” hex driver, remove the screws securing the mounting wings

on
  1. to the sides of

the 
  1. the Control Head.

 
    1. Set

    1. screws and wings aside for reassembly.

Step 3 - Opening

the

  1. Remove all of the screws

Slowly lift the top panel–internal cable connections will prevent it from being removed entirely.

    1. Set screws aside for reassembly.

  2. Gently raise the top panel to gain access to the interior of the Control Head. Be cautious not to lift it completely, as some cables may prevent you from doing so.

  3. Disconnect the USB cable

  1. and parallel (ribbon) cables.

  2. The top panel may now be completely removed.

 

Step 4 - Removing the failed

power supply 

PSU

  1. Note the location of the existing wires connected to the power supply that requires replacement.

 
    1. The larger power supply is the

15V supply. The
    1. 15-volt supply and the smaller is the

12V
    1. 12-volt supply.

 
    1. CCI Technical Support recommends taking a picture of the existing wire connections with a camera or smartphone

/camera
    1. as these connections

must 
    1. must be exactly duplicated with the replacement power supply.

Please be aware that the screws for the power supply are

Step 5 - Installing the replacement

power supply and reconnecting the Control Head

PSU

  1. Reverse the

steps listed from Step 4 to Step 1
  1. process listed in Steps 1-4 to install the

replacement power supply

  1. Once the new PSU is installed and all wires are connected to it, turn the orange plastic screw adjacent to the PSU wiring
