Step-by-step guide
Step 1 -
Removing the old Control Head
Flip the white
switch on the rear of
the Control Head to the
OFF
position.
Disconnect all cables from the front and rear of the Control
Head unit.
Technical Support recommends taking a
picture of the existing connections with a camera or smartphone
as a reference for the
reinstallation process.
Remove the screws securing the
Control Head mounting wings to the X-Changer
server rack, if applicable.
Step 2 - Removing
Control
Head mounting wings
With the Control Head taken out of the X-Changer cabinet using a 3/16” hex driver, remove the screws securing the mounting wings
to the sides of
the Control Head.
Set
screws and wings aside for reassembly.
Step 3 - Opening
the Control Head
Remove all of the screws
indicated in the composite image below
Slowly lift the top panel–internal cable connections will prevent it from being removed entirely.
.
Set screws aside for reassembly.
Gently raise the top panel to gain access to the interior of the Control Head. Be cautious not to lift it completely, as some cables may prevent you from doing so.
Disconnect the USB cable
and parallel (ribbon) cables.
The top panel may now be completely removed.
Step 4 - Removing the failed
PSU
Note the location of the existing wires connected to the power supply that requires replacement.
The larger power supply is the
15-volt supply and the smaller is the
12-volt supply.
CCI Technical Support recommends taking a picture of the existing wire connections with a camera or smartphone
as these connections
must be exactly duplicated with the replacement power supply.
Remove
screws securing
wires to the power supply.
Remove the screws securing the power supply to the Control Head case
