Step-by-step guide

Step 1 -

Removing the old Control Head

1. Flip the white

2. Disconnect all cables from the front and rear of the Control

1. 1. picture of the existing connections with a camera or smartphone

2. Remove the screws securing the

1. Control Head mounting wings to the X-Changer

1. server rack, if applicable.

Step 2 - Removing

1. With the Control Head taken out of the X-Changer cabinet using a 3/16” hex driver, remove the screws securing the mounting wings

1. to the sides of

1. the Control Head.

1. 1. Set

1. 1. screws and wings aside for reassembly.

Step 3 - Opening

1. Remove all of the screws

1. indicated in the composite image below

   1. Set screws aside for reassembly.

2. Gently raise the top panel to gain access to the interior of the Control Head. Be cautious not to lift it completely, as some cables may prevent you from doing so.

3. Disconnect the USB cable

1. and parallel (ribbon) cables.

2. The top panel may now be completely removed.

Step 4 - Removing the failed

PSU

1. Note the location of the existing wires connected to the power supply that requires replacement.

1. 1. The larger power supply is the

1. 1. 15-volt supply and the smaller is the

1. 1. 12-volt supply.

1. 2. CCI Technical Support recommends taking a picture of the existing wire connections with a camera or smartphone

1. 1. as these connections

1. 1. must be exactly duplicated with the replacement power supply.

2. Remove

1. wires to the power supply.

2. Remove the screws securing the power supply to the Control Head case

2. Lift the power supply free

1. from the Control

Step 5 - Installing the replacement

PSU

1. Reverse the

1. process listed in Steps 1-4 to install the

1. new PSU.

2. Once the new PSU is installed and all wires are connected to it, turn the orange plastic screw adjacent to the PSU wiring

1. screws clockwise until it stops (do not overturn).

2. Power on the Control Head and verify the PSU is working properly.
