- The user has a basic understanding of the host machines being modified.
- The user understands that CCI takes no responsibility to any damage that may occur to equipment during installation procedure.
- The user has full access to equipment and facilities where FasCard equipment is to be installed.
- The install location has a full time internet connection with a router or modem with enough available Ethernet ports to service the number of SAP's being installed
- The install location as a 120vac outlet for every SAP being installed within 15 feet of the internet connection.
Warning |
---|
This procedure assumes that all required FasCard applications including ACH forms, Account application and equipment survey forms have been completed and turned into CCI. Failure to complete the configuration procedure will prevent the FasCard equipment from operating properly. Contact CCI to ensure that this step has been completed prior to installing product. |

The SAP comes with a 100' Cat5 Ethernet cable, this cable will connect the SAP to the locations internet connection. Confirm that 100' will be sufficient to reach the mounting site to the internet connection.
NOTE: The Cat5 Ethernet cable should be no longer than 100'. If longer than 100', there could be latency, or bandwidth reductiona FasCard Satellite (SAT).

Survey the location for an appropriate SAT installation site. Note the following when looking for an install site:
The SAT should be located in the center of all FasCard associated readers. The wireless range of the readers is approximately 90 feet. The SATs range is approximately 180 feet in diameter.
The SAT can either be ceiling mounted or wall mounted, using the included mounting tabs.
The SAT comes with a 100ft ethernet cable. This cable will connect the SAP to the locations' Internet connection.
IMPORTANT: The ethernet cable should be no longer than 100ft. If longer than 100ft, there could be latency, or bandwidth reduction preventing a clear internet connection. The path in which the Cat5
is to be
ran through should be free of hazards that may
damage or
interfere with the cable
.
Avoid high frequency devices such as lighting ballasts, microwaves, cordless phones
, and neon lighting
.
If multiple SAPs are being installed, choose equal ranges between all the SAPs and readers, so they can provide redundancy and can cover the entire group of FasCard equipment.
Mount the SAP in the site you have deemed best, based on the recommendations above. For more information see FasCard Satellite Mounting Guide.
The SAP has multiple mounting
tabs on the bottom, use standard screws with wall anchors, if needed.
Connect the 100ft Cat5 cable to Port 1/
PoE on the SAP.
Run the opposite end of the C-0181 Cat5 cable from the SAP to the local
Internet connection in the building.
Use cable ties to secure cabling to solid structures along the cable pathway, stay clear of any objects that may cause harm to the cable.
Connect the provided C-0177 15' Cat5 cable to the customer supplied
Internet device (e.g. router or modem) and the other end into the "Data In" port of the C-5605 PoE adapter
.
Connect the C-0181 100'
Ethernet cable from the SAP into the "Data & Power Out" port of the C-5605 PoE adapter.
Wiring Example:
Plug the C-5605 PoE
adapter into a working wall receptacle (outlet).
The
SAT will boot up and try and establish a connection to the Internet and the FasCard servers, this
