Rebooting helps prevent software problems before they happen. It is recommended that this be done on a monthly basis after business hours. Doing so refreshes memory so Windows can better correct itself, and restarts any programs that have stopped.

Note

Older versions of LaundryCard do NOT show Primary/Backup indicators in the top left of the screen.
Access the Store Status page from the Technician menu instead.

The Primary will be labeled "Database" in the top yellow section underneath "Local Computer"
The Backup will be labeled "BackupDB"

Database: DSN=CCI1SQL;UID=sa
BackupDB: DSN=CCI2SQL;UID=sa

For the above example, X-Changer A is the Primary and X-Changer B is the Backup. In Store Status, verify the the right side of the screen labeled "Remote Computer" is displaying the same database status information as the left side.

Reboot Backup

...

Select Reboot this Machine and click Go.

The Backup computer will shut down and reboot. During this time, the Primary X-Changer and washer/dryers may appear to be frozen/unusable. This is normal behavior and will "free up" once the Backup computer has finished. Also, a network error will appear on the Primary X-Changer This is normal because it recognizes the Backup is offline. Once the Backup has finished and returned to the welcome screen, a WCRD error will appear on it. Again, this is a normal while the Backup re-connects to all readers in the store. Once all red lines have disappeared, walk around and verify the card readers appear normal, then proceed to Reboot Primary.

Warning

If after rebooting the redline at the top of the screen stays for more than 5 minutes DO NOT restart the Primary XChanger. Call CCI immediately for further assistance. 630-930-5115

Overview

This page is intended to guide the user through the proper reboot and shutdown procedures for the CCI-provided computer stored within each X-Changer cabinet. Each location may operate on a different version of LaundryCard, therefore a few screens may be different in the processes outlined below.

Determine the Primary system

It is imperative to know which X-Changer is labeled as the Primary. Failure to reboot the appropriately labeled X-Changer at the right time may result in data loss.

Warning

If both X-Changers are displayed as the database Primary or the database Backup, call CCI Technical Support immediately.
