Overview

This guide will outline the requirements and protocols for creating the various types of FasCard and LaundryCard loyalty cards and assumes a level of proficiency with Adobe Photoshop software.

Templates & Files

Personalized FasCards are pre-printed cards with the card number printed on top of the card using thermal transfer printing. To created create the card artwork you will use the the FasCard template file file will be used.

Front

  • No changes can be made to the front side of a personalized FasCard. Use the layer labeled 'Front - Generic / Personalized'.

  • 'Loyalty Card', Card number, and PIN will be printed onto the front of the card in white.

  • Use the layer labeled 'Back'.
  • Artwork must be contained within the marked area designated by the layer labeled 'Printable Area - Back'.
  • Solid colors only (No use of opacity or gradients.).
  • Use of black color only.

Customized FasCards are printed using 4 color offset printing. To created create the card artwork you will use the the FasCard template file file will be used.

Front

  • Artwork can make use of up to 4 spot colors, or full CMYK color process.
  • Custom artwork must incorporate an arrow pointing to the left to direct users how to insert the card.

  • If card number and PIN are to be printed on the front side of the card artwork, make the 'Card Number / PIN' layer visible to ensure the artwork will not conflict with the card numbers.

  • To utilize the back side of the card, the area for card number and PIN must be incorporated into the front side artwork (Make visible the 'Card Number / PIN' layer to preview the location where the numbers will be printed.). Otherwise the back side of the card must remain blank for the card number and PIN.

  • Use the layer labeled 'Back'.

Specialty

There are a few specialty LaundryCards that have which use pre-printed front side artwork for use with several accounts a group of customers and when ordered, the back side is can be personalized for each account. To created . To create the card artwork you will use the the LaundryCard template file file will be used.

Lite System

Front

  • Front side is pre-printed and changes cannot be made to the front side artwork. Use the layer labeled 'Front - Lite System'.

Required Output Files: Preview .JPG; Master .PSD; Flattened .PSD


Back

  • Artwork must be contained within the marked area designated by the layer labeled 'Printable Area - Back'.
  • Use the layer labeled 'Back'.
  • Solid colors only (No use of opacity or gradients.).

Blue Sparklean

Front

  • Front side is pre-printed and changes cannot be made to the front side artwork. Use the layer labeled 'Front - Blue Sparklean - Card'.

      1. Hide all layers except 'Outline', Artwork layers, and applicable Background layer.
      2. 1050 x 675px, 72 DPI, .JPG
      3. Save file as:
        1. Front: '(Insert Account ID).jpg'
          1. Example:  ABC1234.jpg
        2. Back: '(Insert Account ID)B.jpg'
          1. Example: ABC1234b.jpg

PSD Flattened - One for each applicable side.

      1. Hide all layers and groups except the applicable artwork layers.
      2. Merge all layers.
      3. 1050 x 675px, 300 DPI, .PSD
      4. Save file as:
        1. Front: '(Insert Account ID).psd'
        2. Example:  ABC1234.psd
        3. Back: '(Insert Account ID)B.psd'
        4. Example:  ABC1234b.psd

PSD Master - One for each applicable side.

      1. Hide all 'Printable Area -' layers.
      2. Save file as:
        1. Front: '(Insert Account ID)_Master.psd'
          1. Example:  ABC1234_Master.psd
        2. Back: '(Insert Account ID)B_Master.psd'
          1. Example:  ABC1234b_Master.psd

PDF Approval Form - One for the per project.

      1. Insert applicable JPG preview files.
      2. Size and position JPG previews in respected locations using pre-set document guides.
      3. Fill 'Customer ID #' field with account number.
      4. Fill 'Color Process' field following these guidelines:
        1. If customized card type - 'Customized - # Color Process' where '#' is the number of spot colors used (Do not include backside artwork for # of spot colors.) or 'Full CMYK' for full color artwork.

        2. If personalized card type - 'Personalized - #' where '#' is the color use for the artwork. 

      5. Save as .PDF with layers disabled and using 'CCI_PDF_Card_Artwork_Proof' preset if using Adobe software. If non-Adobe software is used or create the smallest file size while retaining at least 150 PPI for images.
        1. LaundryCard - file name is 'C-2### APPROVAL.PDF'. Where the '###' is the numeric characters from the customer's ID number.
        2. FasCard - file name is 'F#### APPROVAL.PDF'. Where the '####' is is the numeric characters from the customer's ID number.
