Overview

This document is intended to guide the installer through the physical installation of the LaundryCard Receipt Printer.

This guide further assumes that all relevant Cat5 cables have been run to the point of connection for the LaundryCard component being installed. Further information regarding cabling and mounting can be found in theĀ LaundryCard Kit Installation Guidelines.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1 - Installing the lock

  1. Disassemble the Service Lock (098760) by removing the kep nut, kep ring, cam, and mounting nut from the lock assembly.
  2. Push the lock core through the opening on the cover of the Printer Cabinet (C-0665) and orient it so that the inserted key is vertically parallel to the longer sides of the cabinet.
  3. Slide the cam onto the lock shaft with the protrusions facing upward.
  4. Slide the kep ring and secure it with the remaining kep nut.

Step 2 - Mounting the printer cabinet

  1. Determine a suitable mounting location (wall or shelf) and remove the appropriate knockout.
    1. The printer cabinet should be in between both X-Changers or on the side of one of them for easy access.
  2. Mark the Printer Cabinet (C-0665) cable opening on the mounting surface and drill a 1" opening at the site of the mounting surface to allow cables to pass through.
  3. Attach the Printer Cabinet (C-0655) to the mounting surface with appropriate hardware (not included).

Step 3 - Installing the printer in the printer cabinet

  1. Pass the USB (C-1330) and Power Supply (C-0667) cables through the printer cabinet opening.
  2. Connect the cables to the Receipt Printer (C-0666).
  3. Using the slotted holes on the Receipt Printer (C-0666), mounting the printer to the Printer Cabinet (C-0665).
    1. Adjust the printer so it sits toward the rear of the cabinet.
  4. Load paper into the printer by lifting up on the paper bar.
  5. Lock the bar back into place and open the feeder release by pulling the blue lever.
  6. Pull paper across the feeder and press down on the feeder until it locks into place.
  7. Close the printer cabinet and turn the key to secure the lock.

Step 4 - Final connections

  1. Connect the USB cable (C-1330) to the X-Changer A's PC.
    1. If the cable is unable to reach X-Changer A, then connect it to X-Changer B's PC.
  2. Connect the Cat5 cable (C-0178) to the IOGear Print Server (C-0618).
  3. Connect the opposite end of the Cat5 cable (C-0178) to the network switch in X-Changer A.
    1. If the cable is unable to reach X-Changer A, then connect it to X-Changer B's network switch.
  4. Connect the Printer power supply cable (C-0667) to a power outlet.
  5. Connect the IOGear Print Server power supply cable (C-0618) to a power outlet.

Step 5 - Setting up the printer drivers

You have now successfully installed the Receipt Printer.
