OVERVIEW

This page is intended to describe preventative maintenance needed for the LaundryCard System.

X-Changer

Cabinet

Frequency of Cleaning:  Annually 

Supplies Needed

3-in-1 Oil

Graphite Lubricant

Vacuum

  1. Lubricate the threads on both sides of the lock barrel with the graphite lubricant
  2. Lubricate the hinges of the cabinet door with the 3-in-1 oil.

Fan

Detailed cleaning

Electronic components attract lint, which causes overheating.
Use compressed air externally & small brush internally.

  • Open the computer cases and all card readers
  • Do not spray liquids
  • Pay special attention to:

-- Fan blades
-- Heatsink fins
-- Cat 5 cable "phone jacks"




Monitor

Every two months 
  1. Clean the monitor with Windex and a lint-free cloth.
  2. Calibrate the monitor touch screen by:
    1. Click windows button on keyboard
    2. On bottom bar next to clock, select ^.
    3. Click on Elo
    4. Click on Align.

Computer

Frequency of Cleaning:  Every 6 months

Control Head and Cabinet Cabling 

Frequency of Cleaning:  Every 6 months

Control Head Preventive Maintenance

Cabinet Cabling

  1. Check the wire loom where the cables are bundled together to make sure it's still intact with no damage.
  2. Check the bundled cabling to make sure it's still intact and the door has not cut any of the cables upon opening and closing.
  3. Check the home run wiring to make sure there are no cuts on the wires or damage.

Store Cable Inspections

Frequency of Cleaning:  Every 6 Months

Network cables

Machine starts depend on fast communication with the system.

  • Inspect all network cables (especially behind hot dryers)
    for burns, creases or splits. Replace as needed.

Battery Backup

Frequency of Cleaning:  Annually 

Software Configuration Check

Tripp-lite Battery Backup Preventive Maintenance

Frequency of Cleaning:  Every Two Years 

Battery Replacement

Tripp-Lite Battery UPS and/or Components Replacement

Card Dispenser

Frequency of Cleaning:  Every Two Months 

Items needed

Paper towel or q-tips

Rubber roller Cleaner or Isopropyl Alcohol

  1. Lift the cards out of the card dispenser to expose the card roller.
  2. Soak cloth or q-tip with rubber cleaner and clean the roller.
  3. Inspect the belts on the outside of the dispenser to make sure they're secure.
  4. With the compressed air, aiming behind the security shutter, blow out any debris present.
  5. Clean the roller with the alcohol swabbed q-tips.

Bill Acceptor

Frequency of Cleaning:  Monthly or as needed

Card Reader

Frequency of Cleaning:  Bi-monthly (Twice a month or as needed)

Cleaning Card

Compressed Air

  1. Using the pre-soaked cleaning card, insert and remove several times into reader.  (Card can be reused for several readers and re-charged by re-applying isopropyl alcohol to it.)
  2. After inserting the cleaning card into the reader several times, use the compressed air to blow into the reader card slot from left to right motion to clear any debris.

Barcode Scanner

Frequency of Cleaning:  Every 2 Months

Lite System

Same procedures apply to keeping the cabinet clean of debris.
