  1. Remove existing coin box and coin mechanism.

  2. Run reader harnesses through the metercase and out the opening where the coin mechanism was mounted.

  3. Attach the C-5414 Reader Bracket to the C-6911 Metercase Bracket using (2) C-5420 10-32 x 1/4 Pan Screws.
  4. Insert the reader harnesses through the hole in the C-6911 Metercase Bracket and then insert the bracket into the metercase opening.
  5. Secure the C-6911 Metercase Bracket to the metercase using the C-0301 Mounting Bolt.

  1. Remove the (4) Security T20 retaining screws from the front of the machine.
  2. Lift up and pull panel forward and lay on machine. NOTE: The front panel may come apart, as it is two parts. Take care not to damage the ribbon cable.

  3. Mount the C-6980 Mounting Bracket on the front of the panel so that the holes match on the right and the retaining screw on the back of the plate goes through the card slot.
  4. Place the C-1070-W Washer and C-1042 Keps Nut onto the retaining screw and tighten using 11/32 socket to secure the mounting bracket. The bracket should feel slightly loose until the panel is reattached to the machine.

  1. Locate the 120v power lines in the machine. These wires are usually black and white and are located just inside the back of the panel. Use a voltage tester to confirm the correct wiring.
  2. Apply the C-5101 Spade Taps to both the black and white power wires and clamping them down with pliers.
  3. Plug the brown wire of the C-5336 Power Adapter Harness to the white/neutral wire tap and the blue wire to the black/L1 wire tap.
  4. Locate a green chassis ground screw and loosen to insert the green wire from the C-5336 Power Adapter Harness and retighten.
  5. Connect the 3-pin connector from the C-5336 Power Adapter Harness to the C-5602R1 Power Converter.
  6. Apply the C-1098 Velcro to the C-5602R1 Power Converter and secure inside the machine's panel.
  7. Connect the 4-pin connector from the C-5500 Power Extension Harness to the C-5602R1 Power Converter.
  8. Route the 3-pin connector from the C-5500 Power Extension Harness through the open card slot on the machine control panel.

Connect Coin Sense Harness

  1. Disconnect the Coin Drop from the Machine Control Assembly.
  2. Connect the C-6362 Coin Sense Harness to the harness connected to the Coin Drop.

Connect Machine Interface Harness

Locate the AA3 serial connection on the machine control board and plug in the C-5364 Machine Start Harness.

Connect and Mount Reader

  1. Feed remaining harness ends through the mounting hole.
  2. Connect the free end of the C-5364 Machine Start Harness to port 5 (Serial Connection Port) as shown in the image above.
  3. (Coin and Card Installations Only) Connect the free end of the C-6362 Coin Sense Harness to port 3 (Coin Sense Harness Connection Port) as shown in the image above.
  4. Connect the free end of the C-5500 Power Extension Harness to port 1 (Power Harness Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

Machine Configuration

MayTag AA3/Debit Connection Payment Pulse

  1. Enter Service Mode by activating the service switch.

  2. Locate Coin/Debit Option (J.) and set to Cd.

Enhanced Debit (Gen 2)

Enhanced Debit is self-selected when a Generation 2 card reader is installed in the dryer. The Ed option cannot be manually selected or deselected.
