This document assumes the installer has working knowledge of hand tools and of the target machine in question. Physical modification of machine may be required, including modification of machine panels and internal modification to accommodate cables or harnesses.

  1. Tap power as described in FasCard Reader Install - Universal Concepts by connecting the C-5101 Power Adapter Harness to the power distribution panel inside the machine.

    • 120vac: Connect the brown and blue wires to connector #2 closest to outside of machine and #4 on terminal side closest to circuit board.

    • 240vac: Connect the brown and blue wires to connectors 3 and 5 on the terminal side closest to the circuit board.

    • Secure the green wire beneath the ground screw.

  2. Connect the opposite end of the C-5101 Power Adapter Harness to the C-5602 Power Converter.

  3. Connect the C-5500-84 Power Extension Harness to the appropriate connector on the C-5602 Power Converter. The remaining cable end connects to the FasCard reader.

  1. Connect the C-0126R1 Machine Start Harness to the Coin 1 connection on the Machine Control Assembly.

  1. Connect the bare wire ends of the C-0111-RES Machine Start Harness to the terminal block.

  2. Terminal block connections are numbered 0-6 from the edge nearest the top of the board (position 0) to the bottom of the terminal block (position 6)

    • For machines shipped before 1/1/2006, connect harness to positions 1 and 3.

    • For machines shipped after 1/1/2006, connect harness to positions 3 and 5.

    • For machines shipped near 6/1/2007, connect harness to positions 2 and 3.

    • All other machines, connect harness to positions 3 and 4.

Connect and Mount Reader

 LaundryCard Reader (C-0100, C-0101, C-0102, C-0103)

  1. Feed remaining harness ends through mounting bracket.

  2. For serial setups:

    1. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 1 (Serial Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

    2. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 2 (Pulse Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  3. For coin pulse setups:

    1. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 2 (Pulse Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  4. Connect the the Cat5 cables running to and from the adjacent machines to ports labeled 3 (Line Connection Ports) as shown in the image above.

  5. Secure the LaundryCard reader to the bracketry using included hardware.

  1. Feed remaining harness ends through mounting bracket.

  2. For serial setups:

    1. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 1 (Serial Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

    2. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 2 (Pulse Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  3. For coin pulse setups:

    1. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 2 (Pulse Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  4. Connect the free end of the Power Harness to port 1.

  5. Secure the L2 reader to base as described in FasCard F2/F3 Reader Installation Guide - Front Mount.

 F1 Reader (C-5001)

  1. Feed remaining harness ends through the mounting hole as described in the F1 Reader Mounting Guide.

  2. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 1 (Serial Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  3. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 2 (Pulse Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  4. Connect the free end of the Coin Sense Harness to port 3 (Coin Sense Harness Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  5. Connect the free end of the Power Extension Harness to port 4 (Power Harness Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  6. Secure the FasCard reader to base as described in the F1 Reader Mounting Guide.

 F2/FLEX Reader (C-5401, C-5402, C-5402E)

  1. Feed remaining harness ends through the mounting hole as described in FasCard F2/F3 Reader Installation Guide - Front Mount.

  2. For Serial Setups:

    1. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 2 (Pulse Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

    2. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 5 (Serial Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  3. For Pulse Setups:

    1. Connect the free end of the Machine Start Harness to port 2 (Pulse Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  4. Connect the free end of the Coin Sense Harness to port 3 (Coin Sense Harness Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

    1. For dual coin drop setups connect the secondary Coin Sense Harness to port 4 (Coin Sense Harness Connection Port) as shown in the image above.

  5. Connect the free end of the Power Harness to port 1.

  6. Secure the FasCard reader to base as described in FasCard F2/F3 Reader Installation Guide - Front Mount.
