v9 Requirement Notice

To support EMV payment functionality, your LaundryCard system must be operating on version 9 or greater.

General Information

LaundryCard offers two flavors for its EMV-capable credit card readers. The Ingenico & VP3300 readers. Both of these readers offer the same overall functionality in terms of end-user swipes and dips. Their differences, however, are as follows:

Ingenico

VP3300

Ingenico

VP3300

  • Touchscreen interface.

  • Requires Datacap gateway processor.

  • Mounts onto the face of the X-Changer panel.

  • Requires WorldNet gateway processor.

  • Mounts onto the MEI or CPi bill acceptors.

  • Compatible with EBT cards.

  • These readers are designed to first require customers with chip cards to 'dip' said card. If the chip is not recognized after three attempts, the readers will then ask the user to 'swipe' their card. This is referred to as a 'Fallback Transaction'.

  • In the event that a customer swipes their chip-card first, the readers will detect that their card has a chip and prompt them to 'dip' their card.

  • If a customer uses a non-chip card (i.e. pre-paid card), the system is designed to allow the 'swipe' transaction on the first try.
