Operation Details

As with the MEI Legacy 2000 BNAs, the Talos BNA connects using the same two ports on the side of the bill acceptor.

With native functionality for both v2 LaundryCard X-Changers and Touch Kiosks,

Key Differences

  • C-5660-V2 models are fit for Touch Kiosk use.
  • C-1004-V2 models are fit for v2 LaundryCard X-Changers and Add Value Kiosks.
    • Add Value Kiosks utilize a different Communication Harness (C-5690R2) and is thus incompatible with the legacy C-5690 harness.
  • Where the MEI Legacy 2000 series of BNAs had a set of eight (8) dipswitches for manual configuration, the Talos BNA utilizes a dollar-sized configuration sheet insert.
    • The 'Accepted Orientations' setting does not work with a Talos BNA, requiring a filled out configuration sheet to set bill orientation preferences.
    • Although the Talos BNA works natively out-of-the-box, a coupon booklet may be needed (T2700 Models(link)-- T6 / T8 Models(link)) in the event that any configuration is lost over time.

      High Acceptance

All Talos BNAs out-of-the-box are pre-programmed under Mode 0 (High Acceptance) by default. Any modes above Mode 0 introduce stricter security features (i.e. High Security) and should only be used when necessary.

  • As opposed to its predecessor, the Talos BNA only utilizes the front LED lights, both for recognition in use and in troubleshooting.
    • To trigger front bezel LED error flash codes, partially insert and hold a bill in the bill path until the bezel lights flash.
    • Refer to the below chart to determine the issue.
