Wifi Setup

Overview

This document addresses using the Wifi Setup page within Manager’s Options to add CCI Access Points (CAPs) for use in an environment utilizing wireless LaundryCard Readers.

Introduction

LaundryCard systems can be installed with (but not limited to) one of two types of readers:

  • Traditional LaundryCard Readers

  • Wireless LaundryCard Readers

While assigning equipment to its respective reader using Card Reader Setup (Equipment/Machine Setup) may be a similar process, wireless LaundryCard Readers have additional requirements:

C-0527 Wireless Control Head

C-4491 CCI Access Point (CAP)

C-0527 Wireless Control Head

C-4491 CCI Access Point (CAP)

  • A Wireless Control Head

  • A configured wireless CCI Access Point (CAP).

A CCI Access Point (CAP) serves as a broadcasting hub for all wireless readers in a single location. When paired with the X-Changers using a wireless control head or an individual Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector, CAPs bridge the communication between wireless LaundryCard readers and the LaundryCard system.

Wireless readers in a LaundryCard system can be set up for a number of specific use cases such as:

  • A location that utilizes multiple rooms or concentrated sections/corners that a Control Head-established line cannot easily access.

  • An established location where new equipment is being added without adding an additional Control Head or adding/extending hardline(s).

  • A new location looking to either:

    • Blend both wired and wireless solutions, whether in part, evenly, or as a majority.

    • Have a 100% wireless solution for LaundryCard.

For a CAP to be used in a location, it must be added to the system using the Wifi Setup menu.

Wifi Setup

A LaundryCard system can have up to four (4) unique CAPs configured in a single location.

The CAPs themselves are registered and configured within the internal LaundryCard infrastructure of the store and only report to the X-Changers directly.

Each CAP in Wifi Setup requires only the MAC Address to be standard; there are no physical naming / notes restrictions.

Adding CAPs in Wifi Setup

You can only add one unique CAP MAC Address per ID. Any attempt to add more than one unique CAP MAC will produce a duplicate MAC address error.

  1. Under Manager's Options, select Setup → Wifi Setup

  2. To the right of the chosen ID row, select Edit

  3. Fill in the Name and Notes column fields of the CAP ID in question.

    1. Retrieve and enter the MAC Address field from the CAP itself (typically labeled as E01 - XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX).

    2. For the Wifi Frequency column, select between one of the three (3) available channels (1, 6, 11) in the dropdown.

  4. Select Save
