Video walkthrough

For the video walkthrough of how to install the LCD monitor, please watch our YouTube video guide.

Step 1 - Power off the Touch Kiosk

  1. Unlock the front door of the Touch Kiosk and slide out the Kiosk tray.
  2. Shutdown the Touch Kiosk by doing the following:
    1. Using either a Manager's Card, or the Maintenance Button on the Power Controller behind the touchscreen on the left-side, access the Service Menus.
    2. Navigate to Maintenance Menu >> Shutdown/Reboot >> Shutdown Computer.

  3. Once the screen goes black, after a few seconds, locate the power supply unit on the back side of the Kiosk tray.

  4. Switch Power Supply to the OFF position.
  5. Unplug the power cable.

Step 2 - Remove the Bill Note Acceptor (BNA) and card stacker

  1. (Optional) Remove the card stacker for easier access to the BNA, mounting screws, USB ports, and touchscreen connectors.

  2. Unmount the BNA from the door by removing the four (4) screws that mount the BNA to the door frame.
    1. The magazine (bill stacker) can be removed prior to unscrewing for easier access to the four (4) mounting screws, if necessary.

    2. Two mounting screws are located on each side of the BNA.
  3. The BNA can rest inside the cabinet without disconnecting the associated cables.

Step 3 - Disconnect LCD touchscreen cables and USB cables

  1. (Optional) Disconnect the USB cables from the side of the Touch Kiosk mainboard for easier access to the LCD touchscreen cables.

  2. Disconnect the three (3) cables connecting the Touch Kiosk mainboard to the touchscreen monitor.

    1. Can be done in any order.
    2. When removing the flat ribbon cable, the locking clip only needs to be loosened enough to slide the ribbon cable out.
    3. It is recommended to not completely remove the small locking clip itself for easier reconnecting later.

Step 4 - Remove the existing touchscreen monitor

  1. Remove the top two (2) and bottom two (2) mounting kep nuts to remove the bezel with the screen.
    1. The four (4) kep nuts can be found in the following locations when looking inward behind the front Kiosk door and tray:
      1. Top-left above the Power Controller board where the 'Maintenance' button is located.
      2. Top-right next to the Wi-Fi antenna.
      3. Bottom-right above the Card Dispenser; holds up the protective cable sleeve.
      4. Bottom-left where the BNA was mounted.
    2. Removing the fourth kep nut will dislodge the touchscreen from its housing.
      1. Before removing the fourth kep nut, maintain contact with the touchscreen to prevent fall damage.

Step 5 - Replace the touchscreen

Do not over-tighten the nuts when securing the monitor as doing so may warp the touch panel, and display panel, or even cause irreparable damage to the screen overall.

  1. Remove the screen from the bezel by removing the four (4) screen mounting nuts indicated below.
  2. Replace and install the new screen into the bezel and secure it with the same mounting nuts.

  3. Check the touchscreen for any discoloration or warping prior to re-mounting the bezel.

    1. Slightly loosen any of the four (4) screens mounting nuts, if necessary, to clear warping and prevent any touch/display issues.

Step 6 - Mount the bezel and connect the touchscreen

  1. Reattach the bezel to the Kiosk front door, maintaining contact with the screen while re-attaching the bezel mounting kep nuts.

  2. Reconnect the three (3) cables to the LCD screen, reversing the procedure used in Step 3 – Disconnect LCD touchscreen cables and USB cables.
    1. When reattaching the ribbon cable, hold the ribbon cable in the slot and push the locking clip back in place.

    2. (Optional) After connecting all three (3) cables, power on the Kiosk to ensure the LCD screen powers on and displays an image.
      1. If an optional test is performed, power down the Kiosk again after testing.
  3. Reinstall the BNA by reversing the process indicated in Step 2 – Remove the Bill Note Acceptor (BNA) and card stacker.
  4. Power the Kiosk back on.
  5. Test the touchscreen's functionality to ensure it is working before locking the Kiosk door.
    1. You can test the new monitor by using conventional customer functions (e.g., purchasing a new card, checking the balance on an existing card, etc.).
  6. If the touchscreen's calibration and alignment are off, you can contact CCI Technical Support at 630-930-5115, option 2, for recalibration.
