LaundryCard Card Functionality
The LaundryCard system offers its operators the ability to use a comprehensive list of cards that serve various purposes. This page is intended to guide the operator on these cards and card types that can be assigned to user accounts.
Terminology
LC-Card – Defined as the physical LaundryCard cards, personalized or generic, that you can provide to customers, attendants, technicians, and managers for day-to-day use.
LC-Card information
The LaundryCard system has enabled operators to use personalized and/or generic cards to be modified to their preferred permissions and employee cards. The Super Card, Diagnostic Card, and Program Card, which are discussed in more detail below, are excluded from being changed in any way. All LC-Cards used throughout the LaundryCard system must contain 12 digits and be activated by the system, to function properly. LC-Cards purchased by operators and used throughout the store are stored in white boxes, similar to the photo example below. Be sure to make note of the “First” and “Last” numbers on the respective boxes for proper activation should the activation card be missing.
The LC-Cards must be activated by the LaundryCard software either for the individual account or across your multi-store group. LC-Cards can be activated by either using an Activation Card or through the assistance of CCI Technical Support. Failure to activate the LC-Card will create "invalid" card errors that will require CCI Technical Support's assistance in activating the LC-Cards.
LC-Card part numbers
You can purchase personalized LC-Cards by providing P/N: C-2000 to your distributor. If you are looking for CCI issued generic LC-Cards, please provide your distributor with P/N: C-2999.
User permissions & card tiers
There are a total of five (5) card types that can be assigned to an LC-Card. All of the types, except Customer, are assigned default Permissions that control, manage, and affect your business in various ways. These types, listed in no particular order, are:
Attendant
Collector
Technician
Manager
Customer
Card dispensing
Any tiered card can be dispensed through Manager's Options either remotely or locally via your default Manager card or an account granted the "Dispense Cards" Permission. For example, if we wanted to dispense a Technician card, we will need to access Cards > Dispense > select Dispense Technician Card (or any other type of card to your liking).
Customer cards
This card is granted the most basic of all functions, and that is to start customer-level machines and check their individual account activity. This card can be dispensed using either a Manager-type card or through the Dispense Cards function if the permission is enabled. The account information of this card can be modified by manager cards, as long as they have the necessary permissions enabled.
Attendant cards
Attendant-type cards are granted four (4) Manager's Options Permissions. They are also required to clock in/out by default. The default Permissions granted to attendants are:
Cards – This is defaulted to the Merge, Recovery, Refund, Assign From Escrow, Card Activity, and Verify Credit Card options.
Maintenance – This is defaulted to the Screen Reset, System Error Messages, Equipment Status, BNA power cycle, Customer Error log, and Store Status options.
Scheduling – This is defaulted to the Pending Tasks and Employee Work Schedule options.
Marketing – This is defaulted to the Award Selected Prize option.
Attendants can be granted access to specific equipment when it's assigned a specific equipment ID number upon installation. Attendants also have the ability to temporarily disable card readers until they are fixed. Additionally, attendants will also be able to view their work schedule as well as view and complete their assigned tasks.
Technician cards
Technician-type cards are granted only one (1) Manager's Option Permission. They are also required to clock in/out by default. The default Permissions granted to technicians are:
Maintenance – This is defaulted to the Equipment Status, Store Status, and Reset Card Reader options.
Technicians are allowed to start machines, but cannot add value or modify their individual accounts. Any card with the "Allow card modifications" option will be able to manage the technician card. The technician, like the attendant, has the ability to temporarily disable a specific reader until it has been fixed and be granted access to specific equipment.
Collector cards
Collector-type cards are only granted the "Collect Procedure" Permission. They are also required to clock in/out by default. CCI Technical Support recommends using a separate card for collections, to keep track of each collection efficiently, and to separate it from other managerial activities.
Manager cards
Manager-type cards are the highest-tiered card available. When first issued, it defaults the account to have all Permissions except for "Allow setting Permissions for Employee cards (e.g. Technician & Attendant)" and "Require clock-in/clock-out". The reason for removing the prior Permission, regarding allowing the account to assign Permissions, is that the business owner should be making the decision to allow for Permissions to be changed.
For more details about all of the Permissions granted to the manager card, please visit our Owner/Administration Functions page.
Pre-configured cards
The Super, Diagnostic, and Program cards are considered "pre-configured" cards because they are never-changing and serve an explicit purpose. You may purchase the Program and Super cards from CCI Technical Support staff directly, rather than going through your distributor. These cards can be used at any LaundryCard location when permitted.
Super Card
The Super card can start card readers when the payment options that are always available are no longer working (e.g., the readers will say "See attendant/Temporarily out of service). This only applies to LaundryCard card readers installed on washers, dryers, vending machines, and doors. If the reader has been placed in a "disabled" status, reader state #11, then the Super card will not work. Conversely, if the reader is in working order, the Super card will also not work.
CCI Technical Support recommends keeping a Super card somewhere accessible for all employees in case of an unforeseen line/reader outage. This will allow the offline equipment to start, for free, via the Super card, until a manager or technician can make it on-site to resolve the line/reader outage.
To use this card:
The card reader should say "See attendant/Temporarily out of service".
The machine must be in working order to accept the reader's start.
Insert the Super card. Wait five (5) seconds before each additional insert.
The reader will now start the machine.

Diagnostic card
The Diagnostic card is a great tool to have when line troubleshooting your readers. Without power cycling the reader or machine, you can insert the card to view the reader's:
Line number – L=###
Reader address – A=###
Machine address – M=###
Poll Count – P=###
In the example photo below, we can see that this reader is on line 0, with a current reader and machine address of 10, and a poll count of 3515.
When contacting CCI Technical Support having this card will greatly improve the recovery time of your business, especially if the machine and reader addresses do not match or your store diagram is outdated.

Programming card
If you are constantly moving equipment around, or opening a new LaundryCard location, the Program card is absolutely required for these business changes. This card allows you to assign reader addresses at the reader so it can download its necessary configuration.
