Serial to Pulse Reversion Guide

Overview

This document is intended to guide the user through the process of reverting from a Serial (AKA multivend) setup to a Pulse (AKA singlevend) configuration on washers and dryers. Note that multi-level pricing is not supported using a pulse configuration.

Installation

Step 1 - Disconnect Serial Harness

1. Locate the Serial Machine Start Harness connected the card reader (sample harness displayed above).

2. Disconnect the Serial Machine Start Harness from the card reader

3. Disconnect the remaining end of the harness from the machine.

Step 2 - Connect Pulse Harness

1. Connect the Pulse Machine Start Harness to the machine (sample harness displayed above).

   1. Refer to the appropriate kit documentation for FasCard or LaundryCard for specific instructions.

Step 3 - Configure Coin Mode

1. Revert the machine from Serial/Card mode to Coin mode.

   1. This may require configuration or hardware changes dependent upon the machine manufacturer and model.

   2. Refer to appropriate configuration documentation for FasCard or LaundryCard for specific instructions.

   3. Additional configuration information may be found in the machine programming manual.

Step 4 - Configure Machine Pricing

1. Configure coin value on the machine.

2. Configure machine cycle price.

   1. LaundryCard systems must be configured to start on one pulse.

Step 5 - Configure Equipment Type

1. A new singlevend equipment type must be configured in conjunction with the machine level changes.
