With active integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) hardware, the FLEX RF reader allows for customers to easily start machines by tapping their contactless loyalty card on a FLEX RF reader.

Animation Description

Green

Customer taps contactless loyalty card on reader screen

Green light begins at top of light bar and blinks when acknowledging a loyalty card tap.

When first powering on a FLEX RF reader, the idle message will show “Swipe Card” as opposed to “Tap Card”. This is expected.

Once the first tap with an RF loyalty or user card is performed, the system will recognize the reader as a FLEX RF reader and immediately acknowledge and set the reader type appropriately.

Dual Coin Input

When enabled at the account level, the FLEX RF reader can utilize dual coin inputs, allowing two individual coin drops to be used with one reader.  Coin drops may be independently configured to recognize one coin denomination per drop.  More information on the coin input modes may be found on the FasCard Admin Site - Equipment Setup page.

LED Status Lights

The FLEX RF reader utilizes a row of internal LED lights that illuminate in different colors and patterns to indicate reader/machine status changes.
