How-to Restore Dell PC from Windows Blue 'Recovery Screen'

This document is meant to provide a step-by-step guide on how to restore a LaundryCard Dell PC from the Windows blue ‘recovery screen’.

General information

Occasionally during power outages/storms, a Dell computer might go into recovery mode stating that files might be corrupt, the operating system is corrupt, etc.

Step-by-step guide

  1. When on the Recovery screen, press F8 to get to Startup Settings.

  2. Choose the Enable Safe Mode option.

  3. The PC will then reboot into Safe Mode.

  4. Once on the desktop for Safe Mode, restart the computer through the Start menu.

  5. After restarting, the PC will boot into Windows as normal.

If this does not work, files may actually be corrupt and will require a re-image.
