How-To Manually Factory Reset a FasCard Touch Kiosk
Overview
The following procedure can be used to manually factory reset a Touch Kiosk when the built-in Factory Reset option in the Diagnostics menu is not accessible/working.
Required hardware & tools (not included)
USB Keyboard
USB Mouse (optional)
Step-by-step guide
Connect a USB keyboard to the Touch Kiosk main board.
On the keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Del simultaneously.
Select Sign out.
IMPORTANT: Do not use the “Switch User” option. This will leave the normal KioskUser account session alive with running processes.Select the Kiosk Admin user.
Enter the following password: Laundry1234
Once logged in, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc. This will bring up Task Manager.
Choose the Services tab and highlight NtRtSvc. Use the right-click button on the keyboard (next to the right-hand Ctrl key) and choose Stop.
Access the Processes tab, in the Background processes section, highlight NtRtMgr MFC Application, and press End task.
Close Task Manager by pressing the X in the top-right corner.
On the keyboard, press Win+E to bring up File Explorer.
Navigate to C:\CciNtRt\FasKiosk\Pif.
Delete all of the files in the folder, but not the folder itself.
On the keyboard, press CTRL+A to highlight all files then press DEL to delete the files.
Navigate to C:\CciNtRt\FasKiosk\Data\Install.
Run FasKioskInstall.FactoryReset.exe.
A User Account Control (UAC) prompt will populate. Select “YES” to proceed.
The Factory Reset install wizard will appear. Walk through all the appropriate prompts to confirm and finish the program installation.
Once finished, press Close in the install wizard.
On the keyboard press Ctrl+Alt+Del.
Press the power symbol on the lower right corner then choose Restart. Confirm any dialogs that may appear.
Re-enter the Kiosk assigned address when prompted for the Kiosk to download its firmware configuration.
This address can be located on the FasCard Admin site.
