This page is intended to provide the installer with a walkthrough of the process of replacing a LaundryCard X-Changer card dispenser (P/N: C-1025) in a LaundryCard V2 cabinet.

Asahi Seiko Card Dispenser

The LaundryCard X-Changer cabinet utilizes an Asahi Seiko belt-driven card dispenser. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for replacing the card dispenser if a hardware failure should occur.

Belt replacement

If the orange belts on the card dispenser are worn out or damaged, you will need to contact the card dispenser manufacturer, Asahi Seiko, in order to have the unit serviced. You can contact Asahi Seiko through the following:

Step-by-step guide

Step 1 – Disconnecting the card dispenser

  1. Disconnect the power cable from the card dispenser (shown in red).

  2. Empty the card hopper (shown in yellow).

Step 2 – Removing the bill cassette from the validator

  1. Remove the bill cassette from the bill validator.

Step 3 – Remove the card dispenser

  1. Locate the four (4) Philips head screws on the bottom of the card dispenser tray, located above the bill validator.


  2. Remove all four (4) screws and washers. Keep them close by as they will be used to mount the new dispenser.

  3. The existing dispenser can now be removed.


Step 4 – Remove the card dispenser guide

  1. Unscrew the card dispenser guide from the front of the old card dispenser unit.


  2. Attach the card dispenser guide to the new card dispenser being installed.

  3. Be sure to not over-tighten the screws, leaving enough room for final adjustments once the unit is installed in the X-Changer cabinet.


Step 5 – Install the new card dispenser

  1. Install the new card dispenser by performing Step 3 – Remove the card dispenser in reverse.

    1. Do not over-tighten the mounting plate screws, as adjustments to the dispenser's position may need to be made.

  2. Align the card dispenser such that the dispenser guide tray is flush with the door slot.


  3. Once the guide tray is positioned correctly, tighten the screws on the side of the guide tray.

  4. Tighten the dispenser plate screws on the bottom.

  5. Reconnect the bill validator cassette.

  6. Reconnect the card dispenser power cable from Step 1 – Disconnecting the card dispenser.

Step 6 – Physical adjustments and testing

  1. Replace the cards removed from the hopper in Step 1 – Disconnecting the card dispenser.

  2. Test dispense several cards to ensure they are dispensed correctly and activated.

    1. Adjust the dispenser and barcode scanner if any cards fail.
