Step-by-step guide

Step 1 - Removing the Control Head from the X-Changer cabinet

  1. Flip the white rocker switch on the rear of the Control Head to the "OFF" position.

  2. Disconnect all cables from the front and rear of the Control Head unit.
    1. CCI Technical Support recommends taking a photo of the existing connections with a smartphone/camera as a reference for the re-installation process.
  3. Remove the screws securing the Control Head wings to the X-Changer mounting rack.

Step 2 - Removing the Control Head wings

  1. Using the 3-16" Hex Driver, remove the screws securing the wings on the sides of the Control Head
    1. Set the screws aside for reassembly.

Step 3 - Opening the Control Head

  1. Remove the screws shown in the composite image below:

  2. Slowly lift the top panel–internal cable connections will prevent it from being removed entirely.
    1. Disconnect the USB cable.
    2. Disconnect the parallel (ribbon) cables.

  3. The top panel may now be removed.

Step 4 - Removing the failed power supply

  1. Note the location of the existing wires connected to the power supply that requires replacement.
    1. The larger power supply is the 15V supply. The smaller is the 12V supply.
    2. CCI Technical Support recommends taking a picture of the existing wire connections with a smartphone/camera as these connections must be exactly duplicated with the replacement power supply.

  2. Remove the screws securing the wires to the power supply.

  3. Remove the screws securing the power supply to the Control Head case.

    Power supply screws

Please be aware that the screws for the power supply are located on the external underside of the Control Head case. Caution is required when removing them, as the power supply may come loose during removal.

  4. Lift the power supply free of the Control Head case.

Step 5 - Installing the replacement power supply and reconnecting the Control Head

  1. Reverse the steps listed from Step 4 to Step 1 to install the replacement power supply.

    Orange plastic screw

Turn the orange plastic screw adjacent to the wiring screws clockwise until it stops (do not overturn).
