FasCard Admin Site - FasCard Access Point (FCAP) Configuration
Overview
FasCard Access Points (FCAPs) supplement Satellites (SATs), extending broadcast range and effectively replacing the need for multiple SATs in a single location. This brief guide discusses adding FCAPs to a location’s SAT.
Updating FCAPs
Information regarding Updating an FCAP is included in this guide.
DO NOT UPDATE MORE THAN ONE FCAP AT A TIME.

Satellite Configuration
If a SAT is currently not present at a location, a SAT needs to be set up before adding an FCAP: FasCard Admin Site - Satellite Configuration
Adding an FCAP
With the SAT set up, select the SAT that the FCAPs are connecting to and click the Add FCAP button.
The FCAP window will display, similar to adding a SAT, where the E01 MAC Address is required to add the FCAP to the system. Enter the E01 MAC Address displayed either on the FCAP or the cAP XL box. Users can also set a name for the FCAP, WiFi Affinity, WiFi Channel and any additional Notes.
Ensure the MAC address entered is the correct MAC and not shared with any other systems; otherwise, a Duplicate MAC address error notification will generate and said MAC address will not be saved.
Once added, the FCAP will display in its table similarly to SATs, showing the Name, MAC Address and a Wifi Affinity (if assigned). A SAT and FCAP can share the same affinity and one SAT can have up to four (4) FCAPs attached.
Deleting an FCAP
Click on the row of the FCAP you would want to delete.
Click the Delete FCAP button.
When the confirmation prompt appears, click OK to confirm deletion of the FCAP.
Updating FCAP to Latest CAP Version
When clicking the Update FCAP to Latest button while an FCAP is selected, the FCAP will retrieve the latest software update from our secure data centers and proceed to update the device. The update process may take a few minutes.
Do not power off or reboot the device until the FCAP update is completed and the FCAP Status from the System Maintenance page shows the device as online.
Viewing FCAP Status
You can view the status of FCAPs from the FasCard Admin Site - System Maintenance page beneath the Satellite Status table for the selected location.
